Hazrat Ali the 4th caliph, after the death of his first wife Hadhrat Fatima tuz Zohra, the Daughter of Holy Prophat Muhammad (PBUH) and mother of Imam Huasan and Imam Hussain, married with other women. One of his wives was Khola daughter of Jaafar a tribal chief of Yamama. Muhammad Akbar alias Mohammad Bin Hanfia was his son after Hasnain. Alvi Awan Tribe is after the name of Mohammad Bin Hanfia. Qutub Hyder Shah was the descendent of Mohammad Bin Hanfia who joined the Army of Mahmood of Ghazni as a Commander along with his father Abu Ali the first ruler of Peshawar and d his elder brother Salar Sahu. Mahmood of Ghazi invaded the the Sub Continent in 11th Century with success. Memood of Ghazni Awarded the Alvi Commander title as Awan. Awan is an Arabic word means a friend in need. Alvi Awans entered into Sub Continent along with Mahmood of Ghazni and Settled in the valley of Soon Khoshab district of Punjab.

Alvi Awans of Birote, Circle Bakote
There are two sub-families of Alvi Awan in Birote, Circle Bakote one is Noor Mohammedal and second is Naik Mohammadal.
Noor Mohammedal
One Hafiz Jan Mohammad son of Mubarik Khan who was behind Abdullah Golra son of Qutub Hyder shah (Qutub Shah) migrated from Soon Valley to Gondal village of Attock and then to Hazara, NWFP, Pakistan. His son Abdul Shakoor nick name Gondal Khan was born there. Hafiz Jan Mohammad then shifted to Hazara, lastly preceded to Muzaffarabad, Kashmir and settled at Komikot. Of Muzaffarab district of AJK. The other sons of Hafiz Jan Mohammad were Hafiz Mahmood, Hafiz Shaikh Mohammad, Qazi Abdul Ghjafoor and Qazi Abkldul Kasrim. Qazi Abdul Shakoor married there. He had seven sons namely Qazi Taj Mohammad, Qazi Jan Mohammad, Qazi Mhammad Shafi, Qazi Mohammad Noor, Qazi Ghjulam Mohyuddin, Qazi Din Mohammad and Qazi Said Hussein. In those days Sikh dynasty disturbed social and religious lives of all Muslim tribes. The Alvi Awan Tribe was the target for Sikhs because of the reasons they were preachers of Islam especially THE JEHAD. The traders of Circle Bakot usually visited almost all the villages of Kashmir up to Srinagar. They offered Qazi Abdul Shakoor to visit their area for the preaching of Islam. Qazi Abdul Shakoor was an old man. However he accepted the offer and visited Circle Bakot along with his sons Qazi Taj Mohammad and Qzi Jan Mohammad. Some time after his other sons also migrated to Circle Bakot and other parts of the Murree Hills Qazi Taj Mohammad and Qazi Jan Muhammad settled in Birote one in Santhi and other in Khoohas. Qazi Taj Mohammad’s Son Muhammad Noor (His decedents are called now Noor Mohammadal) and Qazi Jan Mohammad’s son Molana Qazi Naik Muhammad (His decedents are now called Naik Muhammadal) were permanently settled at Birote. They were actually religious heads of Santhi and Khoohas villages. They constructed two mosques one at Khoohas land other at Jhandkhooi with the help of local Abbasi people. There were four sons of Mohammad Noor namely Sultan Mohammad, Gul Hassan, Wali Mohammad and Mian Mir Hussain. Gull Mohammad was issueless whereas Wali migrated to Istanbul (Turkey) where he was appointed as a judge. He settled there permanently. Mian Mir Hussain got four sons Mohammad Rafique settled in Village Noon, Islamabad, Mohammad Abdul Jaleel, Abdul Ghani, and Doctor Abdul Shakoor. Mohammad Abdul Jaleel married with the daughter of Mian Barkatullah son of Mohammad Baksk son on Qazi Taj Mohammad of Mohri Narat (Komikot, Muzaffarabad, and Azad Kashmir) in the year 1944. Mohammad Abdul Jaleel had six sons late Ebadat Hussain, Haji Mushtaq Ahmed, Muhabbat Hussain Awan, Shoaib Hussain Awan. Abdul Ghafoor Awan, and Khushnood Hussain... Muhabbat Hussain Awan 2 is author of NINE BOOKS mostly on Awan Tribe. Presently he is the founder Chairman of Idarah Tehqiqul Awan Pakistan, Senior Member of Awan Supreme Council of Tanzimul Awan Pakistan.
Naik Mohammedal
Naik Mohammedal family of Birote is descendant of Molana Qazi Naik Mohammed, the elder son of Qazi Jan Mohammed. When he returned to his native home Qummikot, Kashmir in 1835, he left his son Qazi Naik Mohammed on his edu-religious post where he performed his duty with all his abilities. He married with his family lady and had four sons, later religious scholars. Their names were Qazi Molana Abdul Aziz, Molana Ghulam Rasool, Mian Akber Din and Mian Sharf Din. Qazi Naik Mohammed started a Quraanic School (Madrissa) and a gust house for travellers at Khoohas and died at 1880 buried near masqu. His elder son Qazi Abdul Aziz got the seat of his father and started teaching and preaching of Holy Qurant till 90 years. Qazi Jan Muhammad, son of Qazi Abdul Shakoor had only one son Naik Mohammad who also permanently settled at Birote at Khoohas. He got four sons Mian Akbar Din, Ghulam Rasool, Mian Sharaf Din and Mian Abdul Aziz. Molvi Mohammad Ismail and Molvi Mohammad Yaqoob Alvi, And Muhammad Abdullah Alvi the sons of Mian Meer Jee son of Abdul Aziz son of Naik Muhammad were the renowned persons of their times . Mohammed Obaidullah Alvi [[1]] [[2]] the famous Journalist is the son of Hakeem Molana Mohammad Abdullah Alvi.
Naik Mohammadal Sub-Families
Molana Qazi Mian Naik Mohammed had four sons, Molana Mian Abdul Aziz as an alder son. Other were Mian Ghulam Rasool, Mian Akber Din and Mian Sharf Din. Current families of Nak Mohammedal Alvi Awan tribe are descendants of mentioned four sons.

  • Molana Mian Abdul Aziz got the religious and think tank status in Birote when his father passed away in the age of 95 years in 1883 and accepted the seat of Imamat, Khitabat and religious teaching. He widened the Masque of Khooas Birote with the financial sport of Kamalal family. He also adopted saparet family system and built his house in Narhota near his father house. He married and had two sons Molana Mian Mir Jee as elder and Molana Mian Mohammed Jee second and eight daughters. Molana Mian Mir Jee possessed his father religious portfolio and joined as Imam, Khateeb and Teacher of Khooas Masque after his father death in 1916. During 1908-1918, Molana Mian Mir Jee was migrated to Union Council Badala to feed and serve his in-laws. He returned Birote after the death of his wife with councilation of Hadhrat Molana Pir Fakir-u-llah Bakoti 4 and married again with a young lady from Draikutti Rahimkote, District Muzafferabad Azak Kashmir in Kalgan Awan family. She was nice of Pir Bakoti and he self participated and played a constructive role in this relationship. Pir Bakoti was also brother-in-law of Molana Mian Mir Jee and his wife tomb is at Khooas covered by iron box now. Molana Mian Mir Jee was a largest family within 8 sons and 6 daughters by both wives. Those sons who got high admirations were Molana Mohamad Ismail Alvi, Molana Yaqoob Alvi, Hakeem Molana Abdullah Alvi and Molana Abdul Hadi Alvi. Hakeem Molana Abdullah Alvi was a scholar from Deoband India and taught 13 years before independent. He was directly got education from his teacher, a freedomfighter and founder of Silk Handkerchief Movement named Molana Obaidullah Sindhi. He is close companion of Ataullah Sha Bukhari and after migrated to Pakistan he stayed in Digree city of Mirpore Khas Sindh in 1947. He married a lady of Birote Mash-hadi Sadat family Masooda Khanum and returned to his mother land. He spent his 24 years in Birote and died in a road accident in Basian on Friday, 17th August 1984. He had two sons, Elder is Mohammed Obaidullah Alvi and Second is Mohammed Samiullah Alvi and a daughter Qurra-tul-Ain Alvi, married and living in Bhara Kahoo (Islamabad) with her four children. Mohammed Obaidullah Alvi is living in Karachi single, his lifepartner Farhat Jabeen Alvi and his five children are in Birote. He has only son named Taha Ahmed Alvi and four daughters. Mohammed Samiullah Alvi is SET teacher and living with his family in Birote.

Professions
In starting Naik Mohammedal families were engaged in Imamat, Khitabt and religious education. After a few decades they freed themselves and changed their professions as traders, modern teachers and get government jobs as educated qualified persons. The changes are occurred quickly in adaption of new professions. No one is dependent on religio-economic income, and mostly in servicing in public as well as private sector. They stand on victory point of religio-modern high and technical education.

Education
Since 1907 Naik Mohammedal family is in modern education. Molana Mohammed Ismail Alvi, Molana Mohammed Yaqoob Alvi, Noor Aalam Awan and Ajaeb Bi were previous generation representatives. In middle generation Mohammed Naseer Awan, Masood Aalam Alvi, Mohammed Tahir, Mohammed Yasir, Mohammed Fahim, Mohammed Samiullah Alvi, Dr. Masood Awan, Fazeelat Khatoon Alvi, Asif Ali Khilash, Mohammed Hafiz Awan and the current generation ladies and gentleman who adopted the teaching profession are Farukh Bibi D/O Dr. Masood, Shaheena Bibi, Kosar Ikhlaq Alvi, sohail Ahmed, Safia Akhter, Imteaz-ul-Haq and Nergas Bibi and many others.

Holing
Many person of Naik Mohammedal family inter and serve with good handling the hotling industry. Zaheer-u-Din Baber is first of all adopted this profession and srving in five ster hotel in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Other persons who joined hotling are Abeedul Haq in PC Bhorban Murree and other is Ata-u-Rehaman in Dewo Hotel at Motorway in Bahra, Punjab.
Medical
There are only one Homeopathic qualified Dr. Naweed Awan s/o Shabir Awan of Termuthean, UC Birote. There are no MBBS digree holder in family, but Dr. Masood, Dr. Sohail and Dr. Akhlaq precticing as doctors holding other digrees. Hakeem Molana Mohammed Abdullah Alvi was only one hakeem (Herbal Dr.) of family.
Painter
Molana Gulam Nabi was first person who started the profession of painters in 1944 till 1988. He was a skilled person of his age and he worked in Murree, Ayubia, Rawalpindi and Islamabad. He trained his two sons Makhan Husain Jawaid and late Mushtaq Husain. His nephew Kalim-u-Rehaman and Mohammed Ishfaq s/o Mohammed Ishaq are also famous painters of Birote.
Others Professions
Jawaid Akhter and Munir Hussain are served in Armed Forces of Pakistan. Niaz Husain one son is in PIA and second in OGDCL. Tasnim Kosar d/o Niaz Hussain is only lady educate practicing in City Court in Karachi. Tasleem Akhter D/O Soobedar (r) Neaz Hussain educated from Sindh Law College Karachi and adopted law profession. She precticed in City Court Karachi and pleaded women cases sucessfully. Mohammed Jalil is a librarian in Kahoota Research Laboratories and Zulfiqar Ahmed, Shuab-u-Rehman and Mohammed Shahzad (Pohla) are servicing in PENSTIC Islamabad and completely migrated from Birote to Alipore Islamabad. Mohammed Obaidullah Alvi is only single person of family who adopted full time Journalism carrier. Mohammed Irfan is retire officer lived in Islamabad, was Deputy Controller Military Accounts Rawalpindi from 1944 to 1995. His seat is awarded to his son Gheas-ul-Abrar. Mohammed Farooq was first and last person who served in Pakistan Railway.
Genetic Changes
Many genetics changes occurred in Naik Mohammedal family during one hundred and fifty years in seven to nine generations.

  • male members are decreasing in Molana Abdul Aziz family from sixth generation and many couples are childless as Fahim Ahmed s/o Molana Abdul Hadi, Balkees d/o Molana Ismail Alvi and Hidayet Jan d/o Molana Mian Mir Ji.
  • Family of Mian Ghulam Rasool increasing after three single generations as four sons of Ghulam Nabi and more than half century of their descendants.
  • Speedily increase in population in Mian Sharf din family as a largest male dominated family.
  • Mian Akbar Din family growth rate is average.
General Trends
A large members of Naik Mohammedal family migrated to other parts of Pakistan mostly Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Karachi for jobs and business. Only a few families living in Tangan, Narhota, Khooas, Kolalian, Thandi and Tarmuthean.

  • Approximately every family in desire to marry his daughters in outside family and marry his son from out side of family more common. Only 10% family members engaged in cross family marriages especially Molana Abdul Hadi family.
  • All families are ready to migrate from Birote to Rawalpindi and it is expected that there would be no one in Birote after 2030.
Important Family Feature
  • Molana Mohammed Dafter was the first person who obtained high religious education from Deoband India. He was first religious scholar of Circle Bakote. He died in 1906.
  • Mohammed Sulaiman s/o Mian Mohammed Ji was the first graduate of Circle Bakote from Gordon Colledge Rawalpindi in 1918. He was recommended for high education in London but he killed in 1920 in an accident in Rawalpindi.
  • Molana Abd-u-Rehman, step son of Hadhrat Molana Pir Fakir-u-llah Bakoti5 who and his colleague Pir Khan of Birote minted fake coins to disturb British Government. He escaped from Birote and landed in Srinagar where he got martyrdom in JEHAD against DOGRA ruler Hari Sing in 1931. His tomb is in Sopore.
  • Molana Yaqoob Alvi Birotvi is first poet of Arabic, Persian and Urdu in Circle Bakote. He was a modern teacher by profession. He take part in Kashmir JEHAD in 1948 along freedom fighter of Circle Bakote in Kashmir. He wrote his book Neghm-e-Jehad (Melody of Jehad) during jehad. He is also a wrestler and broke legs of many local in his prime age. He paralyzed in his last days and died on 18th June 1985, unfortunately his tomb is without epitaph after 21 years. He won prestige and reputation as a poet of grave, today every tomb of Birote is occupied by his verses. A stanza of his Urdu poetry is bellow:-

HER BAHAR-E-GULL KO HE DOR-E-KHAZAN ANE KA GHAM
GHUNCHA KO GULL BAN NE KA ORE GULL KO MURJANE KA GHAMM
PAEY UMR-E-NOH INSAN YA HO MERG-E-NOJWAN
IS DUNYA ME HE HER INSAN KO MER JANE KA GHAMM

  • Hakeem Molana Mohammed Abdullah Alvi father of Mohammed Obaidullah Alvi was Deoband (India)leorate in 1938 and the first person who established Madrissa Alvia at Digri city of Mirpur Khas Sindh. He take part in Khatm-e-Nabuwat movement in 1953 and arrested by federal Govt order but released after two months. He is also author of three Arabic grammar books. He came Birote in 1960 permanently but not survived economically and he started teaching of Holy Quraan to boys and girls first in Juleal and than in Chajja Central Birote. He died in an accident in Basian in 17th August 1984.
  • Mian Abd-u-Rauf is first driver of family and died in a road accident in Barsala north of Kohala in 1919. He was father of Dr. Masood.
  • Ajaeb bi is the first lady of Birote who take her charge as head teacher of Girls Primary School Birote in 1928. She was life partner of Mian Abd-u-Rauf. She migrated to Mansehra in 1941 and married again.
  • Farrukh Bibi is a highly qualified lady who is first principal of Girls Higher Secondary Shool Birote. She is grand daughter of Ajaeb Bi and daughter of Dr. Masood.
  • Dr. Tahira Haroon is first lady of family who was awarded Ph. D, the highest digree by Quaid-e-Azam University 1n 2000 on his new research of Neutanion Mathematical Laws. She is senior scientist in KRL. She is step-grand daughter of Hadhrat Molana Pir Fakir-u-llah Bakoti and nice of freedom fighter Molana Abd-u-Rehman of Birote. (to be continued)
  • Farhat Jabeen Alvi is first lady journalist from Circle Bakote and working with Daily Jinnah Islamabad 6, Daily Jasarat Karachi7, weekly Hill News 8 and Ummah News 9 internationally. She is Mohammed Obaidullah alvi betterhalf and belonged to Jadoon Salarzai family of Basian, Union Council Birote.
  • Said Aalam was the first person who joined Indian Army and migrated to Mambay in 1914 and settled in Mianmar (Berma) after World War one. He married with a Muslim local lady and had four sons. His descendants have no interaction with family in Pakistan. He was real uncle of Dr. Masood Awan s/o Molvi Raoof. Others who joined Pak Army are Mohammed Ishaq Alvi, Niaz Hussain, Munir Hussain, and Jawaid Akhter of Alipore, Islamabad.
  • Molvi Ghulam Nabi was the first painter of family.
  • Molan Abdul Hadi Alvi was first Mufti of Cirle Bakote till his death in 2005. He was an Arabic calligrapher and wrote full Holy Quran by hand. He was the first person who broke of religious fundamentalism in family and laid foundation stone of progressive trends, but he failed to solve disputes among his family.
  • Mohammed Yaqoob (Kufri) was first postmaster of first post office of Birote.
  • Mohammed Naseer Awan s/o famous teacher Noor Aalam Awan (migrated to Termuthean from Birote) was first man who qualified from London. His MA result was announced after 40 days of his death by Punjab University and he got first position. Unfortunately he was disturbed all his life of his family affairs.
  • Tasleem Akhter D/O Soobedar (r) Neaz Hussain is first lawer of family. She educated from Sindh Law College Karachi.
  • Mohammed Yasir s/o Molana Abdul Hadi and Nasira Irfan d/o Mohammed Irfan adopted fine arts as carrier first time in family.
  • Habeeb-u-Rehman Awan s/o mohammed Yousaf carrier as foreign service as a first.
  • Mohammed Anwar s/o Molvi Ayoub is stand first who merried a Bungali ladiy first. Shafiq-u-Rehaman a Pathan lady from outside of Awan Tribe.
Tragedies and Blunders
Every family faced tragedies in his life. By this a race is effected. During 150 years of Naik Mohammedal family of Birote life is also have some blunders that never forget by their descendants. Some blunders are as under:-

  • Son of Mohammed Mushtaq and daughter of Shahid Islam Alvi (Pakistan) have lost their parenthood and identity as by force and by law of their fathers. Both are grew up in their mothers and maternal grand mothers. They are not allow as to get their shares in their fathers properties.
  • Zaib-u-Nessah d/o Mohammed Ayoob Alvi Sindhi lost her parents before birth and she grown up in very tremendious circumstances. She were treated by her uncles as a female slave. She did not get traditional academic education despite of his uncles Molana Mohammed Yaqoob Alvi and Molana Ismail Alvi were influential and high qualified educationists. She was a daughter of a government employ who compensated his brothers very much. When his daughter born as orphan they kicked out her mother and she survived till his youth. He engaged in court marriage with Kalim Awan in 1974. Her son is also get court marriage and living in Lahore with his wife.
  • Mohammed Yaqoob (Kufri) was step son of Hadhrat Molana Pir Faqir-u-llah Bakoti 10 had two daughters, but when he died in 1973 his brother Molvi Mohammed Ayoub deported them to rawalpindi where they married in very poorly condition, now their mother out of mind in these days.
  • Abduraoof was the elder son of Molana Defter and a classical transporter also. He married with a high qualified lady Ajaeb Bibi, first hed teacher of Government Girls Primary School Birote and when he died in a road accident near Old Kohala, his uncles Molvi Ayoub and Molvi Ghazi of Lamean Larhan shocked his mother. She was mother of two infant chiled Masood-u-Rehaman and his sister Kalsoom Bibi but she have no corner of piece in his husband house. She Migrated to Mansehra and married with a noble person Sekhawat Shah and lived his life happily.
  • Molvi Abdurehman was also step son of Pir Bakoti and a freedom fighter. He minted fake coins and spread them in market to harm British economy. As a result he was declared a history sheeter in Bakote Police Station. He fled in 1933 to Kashmir and get bullets on his chest in second row of Mujahideen who protested against Dogra ruler Hari Sing in Srinager in 1934. His funeral among others martyrs was so long and his nimez-e-jenaza was offered in immamat of Mir Waez Molana Mohammed Yousaf Kashmiri and Buried in Sopore. Local Kashmiri built his tomb there and urs (Anniversary) is held every year since 1935. He had one son Ghulam Rabbani and a daughter. There uncles did not look after them and they grew up as wild plants. Ghulam Rabbani lost his mind and sold his property without senses and died in Santhi in very poorly circumstances. His sister gets married in Munhasa Azad Kashmir in Jadoon family.
  • Shah jewan was the elder brother of Mohammed yousaf. He married from Kahoo Sharqi but not survived. Some people says that his marriage was camouflaged was by his family fellows and they not happy on his new wedding. They synided his wife and she died in a suspected condition. He did not married again and died as a single person in 1927 in Birote.
